Join us at CYM Music as we embark on a journey to create a space where young minds flourish, creativity knows no bounds, and the universal language of the arts becomes a powerful tool for communication and connection. We offer inclusive and diverse musical training for students from the age of six (6) to the age of eighteen (18) in classical, African and Caribbean folk and other popular contemporary music within our contact area on various musical instruments.

LESSON PACKAGES

Center Lesson Package

The lessons take place at our learning Centre twice a week during the weekends, that is, Saturdays and Sundays respectively. The Saturday classes run through from 11am to 2pm encompassed with various musical fun activities such as musical instrumentation, choral, music theory and a lot more fun activity. The Sunday time frame of 3pm – 5pm is a period of musical club for every student, on which classes will be held according to various instrument for the first one hour and then a general harmonizing section with all the students playing their various instrument together as an orchestra group. This will foster group performance synchronization, dynamically and expressively. Also, this will in a greater means helps the students to be more motivated, breeds their confidence, self-esteem and develop their social skills.

CYM Music Homes

Our Creative Minds Music Home Package is a private lesson interaction between our instructor and the student. In this package, the lesson takes place at the student’s home, at an agreed time of convenience between the student’s parents and our instructor. In order to monitor the instructor and as well the student’s performance, we have put in place a contact register for all daily contacts and a monthly progress report which will be supervised by both the school’s administrators and the student’s parent monthly.

CYM Summer Camp

The CYM Summer Package is an eight (8) week programme within the summer period, usually the month of July and August. Here in this programme the kids are exposed to various instrument of choice alongside other interesting fun activities such as Dance, Musical drama and lastly crowned with a summer show recital/concert.

RESOURCES AND COURSE PACK

At CYM Music Centre, we provide premium resources to help make music learning a rich and rewarding experience for our students. The resources are grouped by Children’s age and for the different approaches to teaching as there are a lot to explore.

For children aged 6 -11 the scheme provides a progressive spiral of learning with planning support alongside all the interactive resources and music learning materials they would need. Children sing, play, improvise, compose, and perform as our weekend lessons are a great basis for a modern music curriculum with inclusivity and diversity.

Grade Level

In addition to the wealth of well-known rhythms, songs and related activities, the children are being able to perform such melodic rhymes and songs acquainted within their immediate contact on their various choices of musical instrument. Learning within this unit scope equips the children with the initial foundation stone of musical understanding.

Age 6-8

Building on the skills that have been acquired previously, the resources for this age range are more complex both in the theory of music, vocally and instrumentality. The units and range of materials deepen and develop understanding and encourage exploration and a growing familiarity with a wide range of style and genres of music.

Age 9-11

To develop and cultivate a creative and personalized approach to musical learning, the resources in this section provide a rich bank of activities and starting points, this includes translational units.

Age 12+

Courses

We have courses for the Violin, Piano, Guitar, Flute, recorder, Saxophone, Drums, Voice classes alongside with a compulsory theory of music lesson available for all classes. These courses are provided to enrich and extend the learning outcomes. We provide interactive backing tracks provide an authentic musical framework for performance and the learning is consolidated through creative repetition. Simple interactive pieces for many instruments with highlighting notation and animated instruments, synchronized with a backing track. These are ideas for beginners.
